Bon Accord Heritage is a registered charity, though you may know us better as the ‘Save Bon Accord Baths’ campaign.
With dedicated support from our local community, we are working toward the restoration and reopening of the historic Bon Accord Baths in Aberdeen. Our vision is to breathe new life into the venue as both a community-owned and operated facility.
Bon Accord Baths is one of the last remaining examples of an Art Deco pool in the country. It was originally built during World War II, as a shining beacon of hope for Aberdeen. For decades, thousands of members of the local community created cherished memories in its waters. However, after years of neglect, Bon Accord Baths now urgently needs your help.

What Is Bon Accord Baths?
In the heart of Aberdeen City, a chunky, granite building hides an extraordinary secret.
As you walk across the threshold, an elegant lobby with curved walls, lined in sycamore timber panelling, is revealed.
You continue down the central hallway. A majestic, vaulted roof – supported by commanding, concrete arches – comes into view.
You emerge onto a balcony, which offers an unrestricted panorama of this colossal and breath-taking space. Illuminated by large windows, which floods the vast interior with waves of natural light, an epic, thirty-six metre pool sits below.

What we’ve Achieved
In 2014, the original ‘Save Bon Accord Baths’ campaign was established.
From this determined campaign, many members of the local community – who were concerned about the survival of this historic building – came together and officially formed the charity ‘Bon Accord Heritage’ in 2015.
For almost a decade, passionate volunteers and dedicated trustees have rolled up their sleeves, donned their hard hats and pulled on their safety gloves to prevent Bon Accord Baths crossing the point of no return.
